How to clean a microwave

cleaning microwave

We’ve all seen grimy microwaves, with interior walls splattered with food and exterior surfaces covered in dust and grease. Luckily, the task of cleaning a neglected microwave isn’t as daunting as it seems. Here’s how you can use the power of your microwave’s own heat to help zap it clean.

Place a dish of hot water and Pine-Sol® Lemon Fresh inside your microwave and set the timer to boil the water. Just be sure not to keep it going too long, as it can overheat and cause burns by erupting.

Once the microwave stops, the steam inside will make it easy to wipe down the surfaces of the interior walls. Don’t forget to take out the microwave plate and wash it with your dishes — and wipe down the microwave floor beneath it, in the meantime.

Then be sure to hit the outside of your microwave with Pine-Sol® power. Just mix ¼ cup of your favorite Pine-Sol® Multi-Surface Cleaner to one gallon of water in a bucket or bowl. Sponge the outside surfaces of your microwave, and rinse with a fresh-water wipe down.
