How to clean the patio or deck

cleaning patio-deck

Your wooden deck or patio takes a lot of abuse from Mother Nature and even more from the BBQs, grilling parties and kids. But deck cleaning doesn’t have to be an all-day process if you follow these simple steps.

First, go ahead and clear the deck. Move all items off the floor, including grills and patio furniture. Then sweep away pine needles, leaves and other dry debris with a broom. You can even get the kids involved to clear off outdoor chair cushions or to help sweep.

For safe, effective use on wood surfaces* like deck flooring or siding, dilute ½ cup of Original Pine-Sol® Multi-Surface Cleaner in two gallons of water. Thoroughly mop the floors with this mixture, and use a brush or sponge to scrub the siding. For tougher jobs, use full strength Pine-Sol® cleaner, right out of the bottle, and rinse with water immediately after cleaning. *Not recommended for use on unsealed, waxed, oiled or visibly worn wood.
