How to clean trash cans

cleaning trash-cans

Don’t forget to give your trash cans, recycling bins and other receptacles some attention during your cleaning routine. They’re easy to forget, but they’re major offenders when it comes to unsightly grime and unpleasant smells.

To clean and deodorize, pour your favorite Pine-Sol® Multi-Surface Cleaner onto a cloth, paper towel or sponge at full strength. You may want to grab some handy rubber gloves before you pick up those cans. Then, wipe down both the inside and the outside of each plastic or metal bin, using a scrub brush or even a toothbrush to get into the corners. Don’t forget to scrub your trash can lid, trash bin handle and trash container wheels too! Follow up with a clean water rinse; depending on the size of your trash cans, you can do this in the yard, in the tub or in your kitchen sink.

You’ll be greeted by the fresh Pine-Sol® Multi-Surface Cleaner scent, with no trace of food scraps or pet messes. The Pine-Sol® Lemon Fresh scent is particularly popular for trash container degreasing and deodorizing, though you may prefer a different one for your cleaning.
