How to clean wood

cleaning wood

Whether your home has beautiful wood flooring, paneling, bed frames, tables or bookshelves, you want to keep it all looking shiny new. In addition to regular dusting, occasionally, you’ll have to tackle tougher stains and build-up that hide the natural beauty of wood surfaces.

For safe, effective use on wood*, you can use a solution of ¼ cup of Pine-Sol® Multi-Surface Cleaner for each gallon of water. Lightly dampen a soft sponge or cloth and wipe down wood surfaces with it, or get your hardwood floors clean by using the mixture when you mop. Don’t forget about your wooden baseboards!

Stubborn spots may take a bit of scrubbing with a gentle scrub brush or mop. For tougher jobs — like children’s handprints on your desk or pancake syrup on your kitchen table, use your favorite Pine-Sol® Multi-Surface Cleaner at full strength. Afterwards, rinse with water immediately.

Original Pine-Sol® Multi-Surface Cleaner is especially popular for wood floors or furniture, with the added benefit of being a disinfectant. You can even pick a different Pine-Sol® Multi-Surface Cleaner for each room, like the Pine-Sol® Lady often does.

*Not recommended for use on unsealed, waxed, oiled or visibly worn wood.
