Steps

Learn how to clean light fixtures with Pine-Sol™ and make light cleaning easier.

Step 1

Turn off lights and lamps to cool the bulbs down. You'll want to do this during the day when there's enough light to see the fixtures clearly while you clean.

Step 2

Dilute ⅛ cup of Pine-Sol in a gallon of water.

Step 3

Apply a small amount of the mixture to a cloth, microfiber cloth or sponge, and gently clean lights and lamps as needed. Be careful not to let moisture seep into wiring or bulb contacts.

Step 4

Use a step ladder to remove any overhead light fixtures that need a wipe down.

Step 5

Dip an old toothbrush in the mixture to reach crevices like lamp cover corners or lamp base angles.
