Steps
Learn how to clean light fixtures with Pine-Sol and make light cleaning easier.
- Step 1 Turn off lights and lamps to cool the bulbs down. You'll want to do this during the day when there's enough light to see the fixtures clearly while you clean.
- Step 2 Dilute ⅛ cup of Pine-Sol® in a gallon of warm water.
- Step 3 Apply a small amount of the mixture to a cloth, microfiber cloth or sponge, and gently clean lights and lamps as needed. Be careful not to let moisture seep into wiring or bulb contacts.
- Step 4 Use a step ladder to remove any overhead light fixtures that need a wipe down.
- Step 5 Dip an old toothbrush in the mixture to reach crevices like lamp cover corners or lamp base angles.
